Bouncing back from a bad day

Do you ever have those days, where you're just over everything? You just wish it would end so you can start a new the next day? Well for me that was today. I haven’t had one of these days in a long time, so it was a bit rough on me. The day started out gross, and I was annoyed the minute I woke up, which wasn’t a good start. The rest of the day consisted of procrastination, and unhealthy foods, making me feel even worse. I think today went this way because I had so much on my mind. I had to keep reassuring myself that it’s okay, everyone has bad days, not every day has to be productive. I started thinking of ways I could make today better and how I could ensure I wouldn’t have a bad day tomorrow. I consciously decided that I needed to do three, very simple things, routinely, to keep me on the ball. I need to clean up my Diet.  I’m finding that I just feel down, and lethargic all of the time, and combining this with the day I had today, wasn’t a healthy mix. Therefore...

Welcome to Life with Jen!

Image
Hi Everyone! So, Life with Jen is back as a blog, again... See, the thing is, I love blogging, however sometimes I'm not overly motivated, and I'll go in and out of stages: "I want a blog!" "I don't want a blog." "I want a blog, but I have no time..." and so on... it keeps going, and going, until the point where you think I would've given up by now? Apparently not. And that's because I love creating. I keep saying to myself "this time will be different, you're more motivated now!", all for that motivation to last a total of 2 blog posts. It's ridiculous. My youtube channel took a similar tumble in a sense that I didn't have time to make the videos and get them to turn out the way I wanted. Whereas, even though I sometimes have difficulty writing the posts or sometimes finding the time amongst all my other projects, I can always get a blog post to turn out exactly the way I want it to. So now th...

2018 Reading List

Image
Hello Everyone! I love reading. Always have. Always will.  However, I found that a lot of preferred reading was postponed due to school and assigned readings. So, in my first year out of School, I hope to have enough spare time to read all the books that I couldn't in previous years.  The list I've created for 2018 is a pretty extensive one, and I'm hoping that my goal to read them all isn't too far fetched.  If you enjoy my reading list, you should (add?/follow?) me on Goodreads to see my updates throughout the year! I'm sure there will be several updates here also, however I plan on keeping my Good-reads up to date, so if you're interested in seeing what I'm reading and when, go ahead and add me!  And now for the list! (Mostly in order of "Want to read") (Books with a ** have been read!) To Finish: "Lifeblood" - Gena Showalter ** This book is the second in the "Everlife" series. I picke...

Brainstorming for my 2018 Bullet Journal!

Image
A Bullet Journal is a very personal thing for most people, and for me that means making it my own in every single way possible. My previous bullet journals have been filled with sketches and doodles, full of colour. And that was what I liked most about them. I wanted to open them because of the colour and drawings that they withheld. Recently, my bullet journal has been lacking that colour and that personality that motivated me to use it, so I've been falling behind on my planning. For next year, I'm going to start afresh with a new book, new supplies and new ideas to fill my bullet journal with. So in this blog post, I'm going to be brainstorming what I want for my 2018 Bullet Journal. I'm going to be deducing what has and hasn't worked for me and plan out what I would like to do for next year. The Book The book is an essential part of bullet journaling. If you don't like the book you're journaling in; you're not going to want to use ...

Camping Tips and Tricks!

Image
Camping has always had a bit of a soft spot in my heart. It's just something I've always loved and have been doing for years and years on end. I know my first camp was apparently when I was 6 months old, and according to my parents, it was an absolute disaster. The rain would not stop, so they were constantly changing my clothes so I could stay warm, and when my cot was floating inside the tent, I think they figured it was time to call it quits. So from what I can gather, Mum and I had a pretty great weekend at home. The earliest camp I do remember though, is when I was about 4? 6 maybe? My friend and I were sitting at the top of the hill making fake campfires and pretending to cook marshmallows. Or when my parents and I were floating down a river in aquaducks. That day was the first time I ever saw a cow... I swear to god it was the scariest thing I've ever seen! I remember so many of my camps and each time I learn something new. What worked, what didn...

Places to Visit this Summer!

Image
So we're in the last month of Winter and I'm really excited for the upcoming sping and summer. It's the first Summer where I'm actully going to be "free," I think. So I decided to plan out a few adventures and a few places that I might go along and see. The Figure of Eight Pools  - The Royal N.P http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/~/media/A6F39A3430CC43EEA99AB0B957049ED9.ashx So the first up is the Figure of Eight pools not too far from home. When I first saw the figure of eight pools, I fell in love with it almost immediately. It was an amazing sight that I'm sure everyone would love! The pools are only a few kilometres out of Otford, with a pretty decent walk to get to them. The views from the pools and surrounds are ones that you don't get tired of throughout the day; the ocean is a magnificent blue, and the rock formations are intriguing. I could easily spend the day walking to, from and exploring this area. Though to make it more ...

About me!

Image
Since my last post , this blog has been on my mind pretty much all day, everyday since Thursday. Now Monday, I thought today would be the day where I would plan out aspects of my blog, from when I'll be posting so that it won't interfere with my school life, and what I'll be posting. I've made a huge list of what I would like to post, with topics ranging from camping and adventures, to book reviews and baking. Either way I have a lot planned, so stay tuned! Getting in to today's treat, I thought that introducing myself to everyone would be a good way to go. A way for everyone to get to know me and get to know the girl that is behind this blog. They're in no particular order, and are completely random facts and thoughts I came up with, so with no further adieu, here are 25 facts about me! My name is Jennifer I have been a scout for approximately 12 years During my time there I have had many accomplishments, my most recent being my Queens Scout Awar...
